Fares4Free a proud ally of Fighting with Pride...

Fares4Free held their first training workshop of the year yesterday as they welcomed two new volunteer outreach support drivers to the team.  As a prerequisite before hitting the road, all staff and volunteers undertake a one day bespoke Health and Safety Awareness training workshop, delivered by IED Training Solutions Ltd which covers the following topics:

- The Legal Environment

- The Identification, Assessment and Control of Hazards

- Defensive Driving Standards and Lone Working

- First Aid Awareness

- Conflict Management and Workplace Stress

- Manual Handling Awareness

- Disability Awareness

This years workshop also included a presentation from Fighting with Pride's Operations Manager, Dougie Morgan, who delivered an inspirational and personal account of his own story coupled with bespoke Pride In Veterans Standards (PiVS) training for all of our team.

The whole day was a great success and the Fares4Free Operations Manager had the following comments to make:

"We have seen such enthusiasm which is absolutely terrific to see with everyone playing a vital role throughout all levels of the charity, highlighting the importance of Health and Safety as we continue to support minority groups who need our support more than ever.

Working in partnership with IED really has allowed us to be at the forefront of implementing and adhering to the ever changing landscape we find ourselves in, during these tough economic times post Covid, and involving the team really is key.

Our commitment to the LGBT+ Veteran community and Fighting with Pride has never been stronger and we look forward to developing our partnership even further moving forward."
